 "Great pan" 2010-01-29
By Lucy (Atlanta, GA)
Great pan - omletes slide easily, burgers brown nicely, home made fried potatoes turn out perfect, and any veggies prepare just fine. Wiping, washing, and cleaning is easy. Slightly preheat it before using for best results. It will also keep the heat after you turn off your stove. This pan is a multi use pan, and if you have one, you don't really need any others, may be just second of the same.

 "My 2nd one" 2010-01-13
By E. Raasch (Twin Cities)
I wish I could rate this as high as the others have but I simply can't. This is my second one and on both, I lost a bit of the non-stick surface. Both times it was frying italian sausage under medium high heat. Worked great up to that point.

 "A Very Good Buy" 2009-12-02
By A. Williams (New Mexico)
This is the perfect omlette skillet. Non-stick with a clear glass lid so you can watch without letting out the heat. Heavy gauge and well balanced, worth every penny. One of my better purchases.

 "Excellent lid" 2009-10-28
By Living Rural (MN)
For steaming vegetables for a bit before finishing with a saute, this lid fits tight and is clear, so you can see what's happening while it cooks.

"This item was better than my expectation!" 2009-09-20
By Marilyn M. Stuart (Chicago, IL)
This was my first Calphon sauté pan. It has surpassed my expectations and the glass lid is a extra bonus. I can highly recommend it.

Product Description

From the comfortably arched handles to the stylish flared silhouettes, the Calphalon Contemporary line is designed to please. Looks aren't everything however, and this cookware line is not simply another pretty face! No indeed, this collection is constructed of heavy gauge aluminum, reknowned for its fast and even heating, and it's lined with durable non-stick for easy clean up and low fat cooking. Lids are of tempered glass to allow visual monitoring of the cooking process. This sauce pan is a good choice for making puddings, heating hot fudge or dips or for cooking veggies. Additionally the low and wide profile combine to facilitate evaporation, an essential aspect of reduction sauces.

Amazon.com Review

Perfect for reducing sauces or cooking vegetables on the stovetop and for braising meat in the oven, this shallow, 2-1/2-quart saucepan is coated with nonstick inside to release food readily and clean easily. The nonstick is durable enough to go safely into the oven at temperatures up to 450 degrees F. Made of heavy-gauge aluminum with a matte finish, the pan conducts heat uniformly and quickly. Because the aluminum is anodized it's harder than steel and the pan won't scratch, chip, or crack. The oval, brushed stainless-steel handle stays cool on the stovetop and has a hanging hole for the pan to be stored on hook or peg. The domed glass lid collects and returns moisture to food and permits monitoring of cooking without reducing the temperature inside the pan. Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick cookware carries a lifetime warranty against defects.

"Buy. You won't be sorry" 2010-01-04
By L. Current
Bought several of these pans two years ago to give to our daughters as gifts after having bought one and liked it so well ourselves. They have told us how well they like them. Still have a spare to use, when and if we ever need it. Some buyers have complained about staining. I have been successful removing stains by scrubbing with a paste made of baking soda and water.

"Not clear on how I lived without it" 2009-12-23
By C Rynn (Twin Cities)
Got this pot recently, only because with holidays I needed another 2-ish quart.

I feel like an annoying TV ad. It boils, it sautes, it pours, it doesn't scorch or scratch

I particularly like the not sharp inner base curve so not burned bits, easy saucier whisking.

So, initially an extra, cheapy pan (a bargain at $33!!!) Now, wondering what I did without it. Wish there was a steamer insert made to fit, then the whole meal would cook in one pot...

 "Perfect and compact." 2009-12-08
By Strazil (Seattle, WA USA)
This small saucier is just perfect for small entrees, reducing gravy, sauteing a few vegetables, etc. We're empty nesters, and I use it several times a week. Great purchase!

 "Phenomenally versatile, lasting durability" 2009-12-02
By Samuel Van Oort
If you're buying ONE pot or pan, make it this one. Here's why it's great:

(1)Extremely nonstick -- eggs, caramel, even stuff burned black came off with the wipe of a sponge

(2)Even heating -- thick and conductive metal cooks everything gently with no hotspots, no burning of delicate sauces

(3)Durable nonstick coating -- I've used scouring pads & metal utensils, and there's not a hint of wearing or flaking on the coating

(4)Well-designed lid -- glass so you can see in, tempered so you can do everything but hammer it and it will last, handle for when it gets hot

(5)Tight seal for rice cooking (and other dishes that need to trap moisture)

(6)Stain resistance -- I've cooked dozens of curries in this pot, and there's not a hint of turmeric stain

(7)No warping so far

This dish has been my workhorse for 3 years now, and I couldn't ask for a finer one.

 "Perfect multiuse pot" 2009-11-09
By Simple Cooking (Binghamton NY USA)
I love to cook and find this pot is very well made and has an excellent durable finish.

I purchased it at Amazon and find their service and selection makes them easy to shop with.

Amazon.com Review

Handsomely designed with contemporary straight sides, deep charcoal gray exteriors, and shiny stainless trim, Anolon Advanced cookware has another reason it's so sought-after: it cooks beautifully. Constructed of hard-anodized aluminum that's even more durable than stainless steel, the cookware retains and distributes heat efficiently with no hotspots. The cookware is also coated inside and out with DuPont's high-quality, three-layer Autograph nonstick finish to keep food from sticking and scorching. Moreover, Anolon gives the cookware 18/10 stainless-steel handles with cushy silicone rubber grips for a cool, secure grasp. Break-resistant glass lids let you monitor cooking progress without losing flavor or nutrients. All the lids and knobs are oven-safe up to 400 degrees F, so you can start a dish on the stovetop, and finish it in the oven.

Everything a home chef needs to handle everyday cooking requirements is included in this 12-piece Anolon Advanced set. With their glass lids, the saucepans in 2-, 3-, and 4-quart sizes always come in handy for whisking sauces, heating soups, cooking rice, boiling potatoes, and plenty more. Two skillets, 8-and 10-inch, turn out perfect crepes, pancakes, and eggs. The large 10-quart stockpot slowly simmers chili and stew or boils a big batch of pasta. Finally, the 12-inch-wide, 5-quart shallow sauté pan with its helper handle tackles stir-fries, chicken and rice dishes, and deep-dish apple turnovers with aplomb. Thanks to the nonstick finish, the cookware easily washes clean by hand. Anolon covers the set with a lifetime limited warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

 "Great cookware" 2010-01-09
By J. L. Brundage (Arizona)
This set is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking. The set has a great selection of pans, and the bonus pan was really appreciated. This set heats fast, has no hot spots and is a breeze to clean. The heat-resistant handles make handling it safe and easy, as the pans are heavy.

I just purchased this cookware and I'm so pleased with the quality of the pans. The clear lids are a great plus!

 "Great product." 2009-12-07
By C. Hagbloom (Taylor, MI United States)
I have owned this set for three years now and it still looks like I just bought it. Cleaning these are a breeze and everything we cook turns out great. My father-in-law also bought a set after he saw how well they still looked after this long. Make sure you use only soft plastic utensils.

"My 0.02 after owning this set for 3 years" 2009-11-06
By M. Palmer
This has been a great starter set for me to get into cooking, however I wished I had waited and just bought some individual pieces. I pretty much only use the 12 skillet and the 2 quart saucepan and everything else stays in the cupboard. The quality of the pieces is very high, but I deducted a few stars because the usefulness of the set is minimal, I don't really need 3 sauce pots and replacing the middle one with a saucier or general purpose pan would have been made is more versatile for me.

"Stop waffling and buy it!!!" 2009-06-24
By M. Carrigan (St Louis MO)
I bought this 12 piece set in 2006 for my wife for Christmas... I know, I know but we really needed a new set. I read reviews of many different sets out there and the most consistent and most positive and just plain MOST reviews were for the Anolon Advance. Got a great deal at $219 with free shipping! But still worth it at asking price now!

The pots and pans are easy to use, easy to clean and hold up well. Our favorite is the 12" 5 qt covered Sauteuse. The handle recently broke (the rubber) and haven't sent it back to repair yet. Will update on the return and repair. We have added other pieces and have been very happy with the overall performance. Now all we need is to upgrade is the stove!

If you are wondering if these will hold up, just read a few reviews! We make popcorn in the 4 qt sauce pot and it cleans up nicely. We have burned food in several of the pots (steamed broccoli when the water boils out and stinks!!!) and they always clean up easily with little scrubbing, even after 2 1/2 years. The lids are looking great too.

You will be happy you have these pots and pans.

"Does not retain enough heat to FRY" 2010-01-27
By mshopper
I agree with the One Star review by Mikech. When meat or vegetable is added, the frying pan cools down to much and stops the oil from sizzling. When the oil is not sizzling, the food soaks up the oil. If you want a real frying pan, get something else. I really wanted to like this pan as its got a nice finish and the price "was" right (cheaper). I had this for a month now and I am disappointed. I called All Clad and the lady said all their stainless pan are the same thickness (thinness!?). I have other stainless and non-stick frying pans that do not cool way down when food is added. I gave it 2 stars because of the nice finish on the pan, but if I want pretty I will go date a model, not try to cook a dish in the kitchen. Now you and All Clad have my feedback :(

 "FALSE ADVERTISING" 2010-01-13
By mikech
This is advertised on Amazon as three ply. It is not! I got out my calipers and checked the thickness. It is basically stamped out of a sheet of stainless steel. Maybe the other reviewers knew that when they purchased it. I on the other hand did not and bought it based on the description. Any time a price is too good to be true it is. This is a case in point. This pan isn't worth $25.00.

If you doubt this, read all the good reviews. They all say it is "lighter" and many talk about how quickly it heats. One reviewer says they burned the food. Here is why: THERE IS ONLY A VERY THIN PIECE OF METAL BETWEEN THE FLAME AND THE FOOD!! NOT three ply. So I think that All Clad put out this cheap sheet metal pan at a low price to capitalize on the "Cooks" review. I doubt this is the pan they tested.

 "Great pan!" 2010-01-09
By Eileen Walker (Denver, CO USA)
I bought this 12 inch All Clad skillet based on the reviews, the fact that it came with a lid, the price was great at Amazon. My landlord replaced my old 4 burner stove with a smooth top, and I needed to replace my 40 year old copper bottom Revere Ware because the bottoms were rounded.

I've been using my new All Clad pan for two or three weeks now and really like it, although I must admit I did have a learning curve to go through. The first time I used it, I burned the food and really made a mess of the inside of the pan. The temperature was way too high. It cleaned up nicely, though. I just used a little water with baking soda and let it soak for a while, then Barkeepers Friend and it was as good as new.

After experimenting for a while, I find if I cook at medium temperatures, everything turns out great and there's minimal sticking.

The balance of the pan is good, and weight is also good for it's size, but when the pan is full it's a little heavy. If I could make one suggestion on how to improve this product, I would say add a helping handle. Over all, I'm very happy with this purchase. I would rate this pan 4.5 stars.

"I want the whole set!" 2009-12-11

I got this pan as a gift and I just love it. I wanted to try one out first and now I plan on buying the whole set. It cooks as good on the outside edge as it does in the middle.

 "Great item." 2009-12-09

I like the price. Clean up is easier than I expected. I was pleasantly surprised at the weight. I thought it would be heavier and I cannot lift heavy cast iron skillets anymore.

"EXTREMELY poor handling at the point of manufacture..." 2010-01-28
By DSweida (Tennessee)
BOTH pans in the set arrived with significant scratches in the non-stick surface despite no damage to shipping box or product packaging which seems to keep the pans from touching each other. After I returned them for a replacement, the next set showed up in the same damaged condition. Since the scratches were under the product packaging, it is obvious that these pans were mishandled at the point of manufacture and shipping. Amazon handled the returns and refund without issue, but I would definitely like to discourage anyone from purchasing this particular set unless you would be interested in finding out how many shipments it takes to get a set that is undamaged.

 "Perfect for the price" 2010-01-22
By Jonathan Shore (Arlington, VA)
These two omelet pans are absolutely perfect for, well, cooking omelets. Not to mention frying eggs, grilled cheese, and other like foods. Have yet to cook something on it that doesn't cook evenly or stick.

I've only had these for 2 months or so but I've given them a lot of use. They wipe clean easily and are very light. Some critical reviews say that they non-stick surface comes off or doesn't work but I don't see how that happens. Maybe people cook with the temp too high or something... I don't know. All I know are that these pans are probably the best deal I've found for cookware in years.

Highly recommend.

 "Great pans!" 2010-01-20
By J. GARCIA (New York, USA)
I got these pans in the mail today and I was wowed by the quality and size of them. I later used them to cook dinner and they are simply non stick perfection. They are definitely the best non stick pans I have ever had. The packaging was great too.

Saw this same item in store for more money. When product arrived could not ask for better quality. They are truly non-stick and heavy enough to heat and cook great. I've always bought Calphalon when I could afford it. This sale helped!

Well worth the money. I've used a cheap teflon pans before that suck and I can say this pair is great. I have zero complaints. I have not put them in the dishwasher nor do I want to after reading other reviews.

Product Description

Backed by a lifetime warranty, Calphalon's Commercial Hard-Anodized Cookware is made to professional standards, offering the home chef unsurpassed cooking performance, superior construction and lasting durability. The 2.5-Qt. Shallow Saucepan with Lid is designed for making and reducing sauces, roux and for heating soup or, boiling eggs. The thick bottom and sides absorb heat evenly and help protect delicate sauces from overheating. The wider, shallower design allows liquid and moisture to evaporate more quickly, so your reductions and sauces are ready sooner. Each piece in the Commercial Hard-Anodized line is made of a heavy-gauge aluminum, all-metal construction with the advanced technology of the Cool V stainless handles. The aluminum construction provides superior cooking performance by distributing the heat evenly so there are no hot spots as you cook. And because it's made entirely of metal, each pan can be used in the oven and under the broiler. The hard-anodizing seals the cooking surface, making it stick-resistant and non-reactive to the foods being cooked. The Cool V handles are designed to stay cool on the stovetop, and are balanced with such precision that the pans feel lighter when you pick them up.

Amazon.com Review

This straight-sided 2-1/2-quart pan can be used for sauces and, covered with its flat lid, for stews and casseroles. Shallow (3 inches) in relation to its capacity and diameter (8-3/8 inches), this pan, unlike conventionally proportioned saucepans, exposes lots of surface and is therefore ideal for reducing sauces or even stocks and broths. Though it's not nonstick, like some Calphalon cookware, the matte-finish pan is anodized for stick-resistance as well as hardness. Metal utensils won't harm the surface. The contoured, textured handle is cast stainless steel and resists heating on the stovetop; it's also triple-riveted for durability and balance. Made of heavy-gauge aluminum, the pan cooks without hot spots or warping and carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

 "Not make for Stir-fry" 2010-01-16
By Confucius Grand-Daughter (Issaquah, WA)
I saw the rating review, and thought I couldn't go wrong with $30 for a saucepan. I had it 2 weeks, and tried boiling chicken and stirfry cut chicken vegetables, and it sticks. Both times I used it; I had to scrape the bottom of the pan. I don't really like to return item, but this really bothers me. My expectation maybe too high. I want a saucepan that can be versatile and good for high and low heat.

"didnt last the test of time." 2010-01-13
By R. Clark (Putnam, CT USA)
I bought this pan in 2005. Recently, I noticed small pits in the bottom. I am wondering where the missing pieces have gone!! I will be calling a Caphalon representative to find out why this pan is pitted. I have several other pans that don't have this problem. In the future, I will buy the copper pans instead. I have several of them and I love them. All of these pans must be hot before you put oil or butter in them or your food will stick. It takes some practice, but you will love them if you take the time.

"A workhorse, but looks like one too!" 2009-12-30
By L. Cheeley (Post Falls, ID United States)
First off, I love this pan & I would buy another in a minute if I needed it. I have had mine for 3+ years. It does everything it's supposed to do as other reviewers have noted. In fact, I burned something in it recently & as I looked at the charred pits, I thought I would be throwing it out & buying a new one. However, after much scrubbing with everything you can think of (Steel wool, metal knife, etc) it all came off & the pan looks again like a 3-yr old saucepan on the interior...amazing! I have not experienced any discoloring or pitting. However, the reason I give it 4 stars is because the exterior is definitely discolored: There are scratches on the sides; it is dark on the bottom in the & light on the edges--something to do with my gas stove, I imagine. Scratches abound on the bottom. Since I don't hang my pans, its exterior appearance is not of great concern to me, so I am happy with it. I also am admittedly hard on my cookware. I never put them in the dishwasher, but since my kids wash the dishes, nothing is sacred. It also is starting to chip around the upper outer edge, which I can see eventually spreading to other areas. However, for $25 on Amazon's Lightening Deal, everyone should own one of these!

"Still working great 5 years later" 2009-12-30

This is a solid performer that lasts. I've used it for over 5 years almost every day without any problem. It still looks like it did the day I got it.

Product Description

Great tastes come to those who wait. Calphalon stock pots are ideal for stews, stock, chili and other moist-cooked dishes. Heavy-gauge aluminum is responsive to temperature changes, whether you're slowly simmering or rapidly boiling. Calphalon's stock pots are designed for easy cooking, easy cleanup and maximum performance. Add a stainless insert for your pasta-making pleasure.

Amazon.com Review

Calphalon Commercial hard-anodized pans are made for the more serious cook who is looking for kitchenware built to last a lifetime. This large-size, 12-quart stockpot is good for soup, stews, and pasta, and its heavy-gauge aluminum construction also stands up to deep frying. The looped handles are easy to grip and stay cooler than you might expect, thanks to V-shaped splits where they meet the pan, but it's still a good idea to keep hot pads nearby. The nonporous and nonreactive hard-anodized surface resists sticking and doesn't affect the flavor or color of food. It's also tough enough to handle stainless-steel utensils and vigorous whisking. Unlike pans with plastic or wood handles, the extremely sturdy all-metal construction provides you the flexibility to take the pan to the oven or broiler. But do remember to hand wash your Calphalon pans--dishwasher detergents are bad for the finish and their use voids the lifetime warranty. --Dale Steinke

 "Love Calphalon" 2010-01-17
By Fifi (Denver,Co)
Though I have yet to use this stockpot, I did purchase it at a good price and had always wanted this size. I have had and purchased Calphalon for many years and I can say that there is a marked difference in the product from the pans that I bought years ago, so I do wonder about the quality. Hard Anodized if used correctly can be one of the best metals to use in cooking. Read the directions and follow them and you will love this as much as I do. This is my most recent purchase so all my other Calphalon is much older and still in great condition. If this product doesn't hold up in the same fashion I will update this review, but as of now I'm a Calphalon FAN!! Thanks Amazon for the grat prices. PS the best time to buy the Calphalon is on their Friday sale day!

 "Leaking from handle" 2010-01-14
By Corinne Riley
I purchased this on the Deals of the day. Received it, used it the next day making soup, when I went back to the kitchen, the soup was leaking out of the handle. I returned it as defective, Amazon sent me a new one, decided to fill it up with water to test and the handle leaked on that one too! I am returning this one and had also ordered a 7 quart and I canceled that order. Wouldn't buy this product again.

 "Calphalon 12 quart pot" 2010-01-07
By Barbara J. D'ambrosio (Las Vegas, Nevada)
This is without a doubt the best pot I have ever used! While cooking, the lid does not get so hot that one cannot pick it up. Also, if the pot needs to be picked up by the handles on the side, you will not burn yourself. The heat is transfered equally throughout the pot (bottom, sides, etc.) as it is cooking. It is easy cleanup. I now want a whole set.

 "My favorite pot" 2009-12-30
By Teresa Preston (Rochester, NY)
I've had this for about 4 years now, and it's my all-time favorite pot. I make everything in it - soup, stew, chili, sauce, even candy. Heats evenly and holds heat well, the lid fits nicely and the handles stay relatively cool on the cook top. I've never used it in the oven but it's supposed to be rated to 500 degrees. I really don't know what I'd do without it.

"Newer "Made in China" Calphalon" 2009-12-29
By J. Breithaupt (Shreveport, LA USA)
This pot = thin junk. Older Calphalon made in USA = thick, heavy, high-quality. Very sad to see such a nosedive in quality.

Product Description

Grilled cheese sandwiches, pancakes, and a host of other appetizing foods can be cooked on a griddle. Anodized aluminum is fabulous for conducting heat quickly and evenly, while the non-stick surface of this piece cleans like a dream.

Amazon.com Review

The sides of this 10-inch nonstick griddle are low and slope gently, so your crêpes slide out without falling apart and your pancakes flip easily. No matter what you're cooking, you're guaranteed quick and even heat distribution, easy food release, and simple cleaning, thanks to the pan's three layers: an aluminum core, a hard-anodized exterior, and a reinforced nonstick surface. The aluminum core provides rapid heat conduction, while the hard-anodized exterior increases the griddle's durability. The nonstick surface allows you to cook low-fat meals without using any oil or butter. The griddle includes a collector's edition recipe card. As with all nonstick surfaces, you should not use metal utensils or abrasive cleaners with the griddle; doing so could void the lifetime warranty. --Laura Cuthbert

 "qualified approval" 2010-01-24
By mary and jeff (madison, wi USA)
We own a calphalon 1210 crepe pan and a 1390 10" saute pan and love the surface. No chipping etc. Our one complaint and it is a big one is the handle which is very awkward and difficult to hold. It is a poor ergonomic design. We would hesitate to buy larger frying pan from them unless they fixed the poor handle design.

"Nice Design. Non Stick surface peeling." 2010-01-23
By M. Hoyt (McCordsville, IN USA)
It have had this pan for about 8 months. It was great for several months of daily use. I hand wash with and never use metal utensils. But after about 6 months of near daily use (I have an omelet or a cooked egg every morning) that the non stick coating began to peel off. By eight months, the coating pieces began showing up in my egg. I had to throw the pan away. I have an older 12" Anolon that I have gone back to. The Anolon is over 2 years old the non-stick surface is just fine. I like the size and design of the 10" Calphalon. It is just not as reliable.

 "Great non-stick pan" 2010-01-21
By Gary Kurnov (New York)
This pan is terrific, confirming previous positive reviews. I have cooked a number of things on this pan including eggs, onions and salami so it has many uses beyond making crepes. The food doesn't get burned easily and the pan is extremely easy to clean.

 "Fabulous multi purpose pan" 2010-01-18
By Macatawa (Michigan)
Forget breakfast fare only! I received this as a holiday gift and love it. Pancakes and eggs certainly but I have done everything- seared romaine hearts, chops, ... It heats rapidly and evenly [ gas range ] and cleans like a dream! I will be purchasing more hard anodized for our kitchen.

 "Over 4 years old..." 2010-01-06
By M. Richardson (USA)
Over four years old now, and still fantastic - the surface is slick, the pan attractive even after almost daily use. I handwash it with Dawn and a sponge, and the only thing that's happened to the coating is it's roughing a bit on the lip - not on the cooking surface! (I think this would actually be covered under the warranty if I looked into it). Certain things will stick to the bolt heads in the pan, so I advise either spraying them occasionally with PAM or just inspecting them after you wash. I have given this swank little pan to friends and family as a quick fry pan - though it does make fine crepes when put to the task - and everyone loves it.

Calphalon Commercial 9-Piece Hard-Anodized Cookware Set

Calphalon Commercial 9-Piece Hard-Anodized Cookware Set

Product Description

Set includes: 8" omelette, 10" omelette, and 12" omelette, 3qt chefs casserole with cover, 7qt chefs casserole with cover, and 2.5qt shallow saucepan with cover. Heavy-gauge aluminum is responsive to temperature changes. These pans feature the original Calphalon hard anodized surface, which is stick resistant, meaning that it sticks when you want it (when your searing, browning) and releases when you need it to(when your food is ready). If you know how cast iron cooks, you know how the hard anodized cooks, but hard anodized has many beneifts that make it better choice- aluminum is a better conductor than iron, you never season your pan(so you dont have flavor transfer from dish to dish), and it doesn't rust! All pans are spun or drawn into shape, which makes the entire pan (sides as well as bottom) the same thickness, which guarantees even heating throughout. If you enjoy cooking and want the best and most versatile surface for performing a variety of techniques- this is the surface for you! Metal utensil and broiler safe. Lifetime Warranty.

Amazon.com Review

Update your kitchen with this handsome nine-piece cookware set from Calphalon. The charcoal-gray matte finish of the Commercial Hard-Anodized series not only looks sophisticated but is impressive in performance: it sears meats over medium heat, cooks evenly, and stays stick-resistant without having a nonstick finish that can eventually peel. Moreover, hard-anodized pots and pans are safe to use with metal utensils and under the broiler. Riveted on for strength, the stainless-steel Cool V handles stay cool during stovetop cooking and are oven-safe, as are the lids.

Covering all the basics, this set consists of a 2-1/2-quart covered shallow saucepan; 8-, 10-, and 12-inch open skillets; and 3- and 7-quart covered chef's casseroles. The lid on the larger casserole is domed to send moisture and flavors back into the pot for succulent meat dishes. You'll find low to medium heat is the best temperature range for this fast-heating cookware. After use, wash by hand. Though it's still covered by a lifetime warranty, Calphalon discontinued the Commercial Hard-Anodized line in 2004 and replaced it with Calphalon One Infused Anodized. --Ann Bieri

 "Bad Quality Product" 2010-01-21
By EK (Los Angeles, CA)
Worst experience with Cookware. After two uses it started discoloring and lost its finish inside. Please note that this is "Made in China". Last thing I wanted is to have some Chinese chemicals in my food. Thanks to Amazon's excellent return policy, I sent it back and got a refund. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this product line.

"This is a terrible set!" 2010-01-18
By Alexander Kaganov (Richmond, VA, US)
Don't buy it - this is a terrible set! Amazon being a reputable seller should remove it from the site.

I read very mixed reviews before buying this set but still decided to go ahead because I owned another piece of Calphalon Commercial Hard-Anodized cookware. The pan that I had was also made in China and worked great for me - so I didn't mind the origin. Probably at least a half of the things we have in a typical household have been produced in China anyways.

So this is not about the country of origin - this is about the quality of the product. Everything people say here about food sticking to the pan is completely true! Cleaning these pans is almost impossible! No, I didn't expect them to behave like non-sticks do but I didn't expect everything to stick regardless of the amount of butter/oil I put.

I'm returning this set and will continue my search for a good set of cookware.

 "Extremely Disappointing" 2010-01-10
By luke
My girlfriend had picked up a very nice Calphalon cook pan at Ross for a great price and she really loves it. I thought I'd get her some more Calphalon cookware for Christmas and bought these pots. The very first time using two of these pots was a disaster. They don't come clean. The cookware film is coming off. One has a white film, the other has a black film. Absolutely do not buy this particular model. They are total crap.

"High quality pans at a great price, not USA Calphon" 2010-01-03
By S. Morong (USA)
Yeah yeah these are not the USA made pans, I know and I am sure the USA quality is better and lead free, but these are good pans. CEOs have to look like they are making profits by shipping manufacture overseas, when in fact they are making quality compromises. Oh well great pans, hard to located which ones these are on the Calphon website to register, but Amazon says, "Lifetime Warranty" and I have the screen shot to prove it.

 "Doesn't last long" 2009-12-29
By Chief Bob (Iowa)
Cookware does okay when new but finish does not last. Even if you do everything perfect, finish will "come off" in a couple of years and food will then stick. Not bad for cheap cookware but don't expect to keep it for over 5 years or so. Calphalon does not answer complaints or reports about warranty at all. Best buy for cookware is the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro Stainless.

This 12-inch everyday pan will end up being the hardest working pan in your kitchen. It is ideal for everything from simmering stovetop succotash and braising brisket to browning Dutch pancakes or cooking fruit tarts. Part of Calphalon's Commercial Hard-Anodized line of cookware, this pan is made of heavy-gauge aluminum that's uniformly thick across the bottom and sides, allowing for quick and even heat distribution. Its durable hard-anodized finish is stick- and scratch-resistant and won't react with acidic foods. The patented cast stainless-steel handles are comfortable to grip, plus they minimize heat transfer so handles stay cool on the stovetop. Handles are held in place by three sturdy stainless-steel rivets. The included hard-anodized lid is dome-shaped, making it ideal for moist-heat cooking. The cookware and lid are oven-safe up to 450 degrees F so you can transfer a frittata to the oven for browning without having to switch pans.  "Not worth the price" 2010-01-23
By Mel Renee
I bought a complete set of Calphalon cookware. It was very expensive but I wanted something that would last. The non-stick coating on all but two of the pans deteriorated after only a couple of months use. I took very good care of the cookware. I returned four of the pans (very expensive). They would only replace one of the pans. They said that I misused the cookware...not true. I must say that the replacement pan has worked very well. I would never buy Calphalon cookware again. I have pans purchased at Walmart that have lasted longer than the Calaphon. If I could use a no star rating I would.

"I own better Calphalon pans but none more versatile" 2010-01-13
By Timothy B. Riley (San Antonio, TX USA)
I have been using Calphalon for over 15 years. I have frying pans, saute pans, big pots, small sauce pots, stock pots, a wok, etc. I bought this as a spare since it was priced so low. It's not the same quality as my more expensive pieces but it is still very usable and it's shape lets me be flexible with what I do with it. If I need an extra skillet, I have it. If need a saute or stir fry pan it will do the job.

But what I want to share is that even though I don't use it everyday I have given many of them away as gifts. I have several children that use these as their go-to pans. My single sons has learned to make quite a few things with this one piece. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, hamburgers, chili, the list goes on and on. The only other thing that they really need is a small (2 quart) sauce pan. I would thing that I would caution someone about is that they need to learn how to take care of an anodized pan. Yes, you can treat it badly but it will work better if you:

* Wash it by hand (none of my pots and pans ever see the inside of an automatic dishwasher)

* Don't use harsh detergents

* Don't use steel wool pads on it

* Don't use it without some type of fat (even Pam will work)

If you are looking for a reasonably priced housewarming gift that will get used you can't do much better.

 "Love this!" 2010-01-03
By Christine M. Dohm (North Carolina, United States)
I've had this for a couple of years and it is by far my favorite pan in the kitchen. I can use it for so many things - it is a big skillet, a nice wide saucepan, a fryer, and on and on. It does the job and always does it well.

 "My daughter was thrilled..." 2010-01-01

My daughter has worked magic in the kitchen for years. She is looking forward to using her new Everyday Pan.

"a China Calphalon knockoff not sold in department stores" 2009-12-30
By Kimberly A. Sweet (colorado)
Beware...this is a China knockoff of Calphalon. You will never find this pan in the stores. The true Calphalon is made in Toledo Ohio and says so on the bottom. These hard anodized pans that weigh next to nothing are made in China and it says so right on the box you get as well as the pan. How can Calphalon still exist and they have two locations? Hmmmmmm. Not sure how Amazon gets these but they are not true Calphalon. They are junk and do not buy. Look for the ones that say nonstick and the shipping weight is more than three pounds. Calphalon should be ashamed of offering a cheap knock off pan to make money off the consumer wanting to spend only $30 for a pan. Theses pans are worse than the good $30 pans you can buy. In reality, non-stick pans only last about a year anyway. This pan is worthless. Buy a good staniless steel pan that will last a lifetime instead of a hard anodized pan that is non-stick and invest in a good 12 inch non-stick pan. Not this one.
